Kutztown Folk Festival Bus Day Trip

Kutztown Hex
July 10, 2010 —July 10, 2010

On Saturday, July 10, 2010, the Historical Society of Rockland County presented a bus day trip to... the Kutztown Folk Festival - America's Premier Folklife Festival!

Our guests enjoyed the finest in traditional crafts, food, music and folklife when they went to the Kutztown Festival which features one of the country's largest gatherings of over 200 of the nation's most skilled artisans, demonstrating their traditional crafts. The best examples of Pennsylvania Dutch and early American folk arts and crafts can be found at the festival; most are made on-site for visitors enjoyment and offer their unique creations for purchase.

The 2010 festival had fine furniture, miniatures, pottery, clothing, musical instruments, hand-painted art, iron ornaments, weavings, brooms, baskets, florals, hex painting, jewelry, leather, cut paper art (scherenschnitte), Pennsylvania German calligraphic writing (fraktur), beeswax candles and much more.

And to make our guest's Kutztown experience complete, they enjoyed a full-course, continuously-served, all-you-can-eat authentic Amish dinner at their leisure. The meal included such favorites as Chicken Pot Pie, Ham, Schnitz Un Kepp, fresh local vegetables, AMAZING homemade desserts and more.

Despite an overcast day with a few rainshowers, our guests had a great time!
