This exhibition celebrated the creativity of the artists, craftspeople, and collectors of the miniatures, dollhouses. and art that grace our museum galleries.

On display are handmade dollhouses created this past summer at Rockland Center for the Arts by students Susan Langone, Ethan Canter, Kersten Savage, Cate Ievolella, Molly Ievolella, Lily Rose Weber, and Juliana Pekak. See how "found objects" become art!

Another truly creative artist whose colorful
tunnel books, dioramas. and drawings were on exhibit is Shoshana Spencer, a college art student and granddaughter of the Rockland artist Ned Harris.

In keeping with the s celebration of creativity, we were proud to display works by well-known Rocklanders such as

  • the ceramic artist Rosemary Aiello
  • the artist, children's book illustrator/author Barbara Soloff Levy
  • the glass and jewelry artist Stephanie Maddelena
  • the miniaturist and dollhouse crafter Carolyn McErlean
  • the miniaturist Zsuzsa Neff
  • the photographers Ned Harris and George Potanovic Jr.
  • the illustrator William Sayles
  • the children's book illustrator/author Elizabeth Sayles
  • the mobile artist Andre Voumard

Regional contributors included

  • the room box and miniature artist Sandra Mirque
  • the miniaturist Tamara Greeman
  • the collage artist Elizabeth Parsons
  • the doll artist Lillian Alberti
  • the paper model maker and graphic designer Pierre Fontaine
Dollhouses and dolls were on loan from Caren Pane, Michelle Lundemo, Kimberly Milliard, and Dorothie Flieger. Once again, we displayed the art quilts made by Mary Jane Sexton, Debbie Calyo, and Maria Weinstein. They and the very talented members of their quilting guild, the Heritage Quilters of the Hudson Palisades, donated a beautiful quilt that was raffled to benefit The Historical Society of Rockland County.
