When I re-opened the Kearny House in the PIP, Joan was the go to person on Skunk Hollow. Her research introduced the public to this very unusual part of the park. However, I do remember the rules and regulations put on this doctoral candidate were tough and weren't the easiest to work - and dig - under. I also remember with great interest her NYC projects and her work with the NPS. A real trail blazer, good speaker and nice person.
