The Historical Society of Rockland County proudly announces the return of the ever-popular annual holiday exhibition now in its 38th year.  With a renewed effort to showcase highlights from the Historical Society’s permanent collection, Hudson Valley’s Tastemaker Ned Kelly will curate the show entitled, “Simple Gifts,”  which will be shown inside the historic Jacob Blauvelt House, c. 1832 (on the National Register of Historic Places).

In addition to selecting interesting, eclectic and unique items from the HSRC’s collection shelves, Ned Kelly and his team, using their “perfect-pitch taste,” will decorate the historic Jacob Blauvelt House enhancing the charming spaces with exquisite beauty and refined elegance for the holidays.

“It has been wonderful getting a chance to peruse the shelves of the HSRC.  Their collection includes so many interesting things that represent our unique County and its residents.  I am particularly fond of the original Berta and Elmer Hader holiday cards.  They are whimsical, graphic and colorful,” said Kelly.

Susan Deeks, the HSRC’s Executive Director commented, “We feel fortunate to have Ned Kelly and his team as collaborators this year.  We hope that displaying part of our collection, all of which were gifts from generous members and friends, will remind viewers of yesteryear.  An added bonus is to have them surrounded by Ned Kelly’s beautiful décor.”
