The Historical Society of Rockland County Invites You to Join Us for

THE GREAT WAR 
at Ringwood Manor

When: Sunday, August 6, 2017, rain or shine 

Where: Ringwood Manor, 1304 Sloatsburg Road, Ringwood, NJ

Admission: 
Admission to the event is $FREE, but guests are responsible for paying the State Park parking fees and the optional historic house tour fee (see below)


This is a meet-up announcement for history enthusiasts
All are welcome. 

To join the group, arrive at Ringwood Manor at 10:15 am and meet at the State Park Bulletin Board in the main parking lot


Join us at Ringwood Manor to commemorate the centennial of the U.S. entry into World War I. There will be military encampment on the grounds of the historic 19th century manor, lectures on the Women's Emergency Services, an ongoing medical nursing display, uniform exhibitions, period music performed by the renowned historical balladeer Linda Russell, arms demonstrations, and more.

The event will run from 10 am to 5 pm. and a variety of military impressions covering the time period 1914-1919 will be presented!

There is no fee for the event, but the state parking fee of $5 for in-state vehicle and $7 for out-of-state vehicles 
will apply to enter Ringwod State Park. Ringwood Manor will be open for guided tours from 10 am to 3 pm. Tour fees are $3 for adults, $1 for children age 6-12, children age 5 and under are free.

Come for an hour or stay for the day!

  • 5:00 Close program


Directions: From NYS Thruway North (Monsey/Spring Valley, etc.), take Exit 15A. Make a left at the traffic light onto old Route 17. Stay to the right and take the first exit on the right (Sterling Mine Rd./CR72). Proceed on Sterling Mine Rd. (changes name to Sloatsburg Rd. in NJ) for about 4 miles. The Ringwood Manor entrance will be on the right. For more info, call the Ringwood Manor Park Office at (973) 962-2240.

Lunch is not included. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.
