 The Historical Society of Rockland County Is Pleased to Announce the 

8th Annual 
John T. and Mary A. Grant Rockland County 
High School Local History Conference

When: Wednesday, March 11, 2020 (snow date: Tuesday, March 18)
Where: Crestview Conference Center, 440 West Nyack Road, West Nyack
Admission: $FREE - By Invitation Only

This day-long conference brings together high school history students, their advisers, and Social Studies Department chairs from the following Rockland County high schools:

  • Albertus Magnus
  • Clarkstown North
  • Clarkstown South
  • North Rockland
  • Ramapo
  • Tappan Zee

The year 2020 marks the one-hundredth anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees and protects women’s right to vote. Taking advantage of this unique opportunity for students to explore local community connections to this important moment in American history, the theme for this year's conference is "A Call to Action: Rockland County and the Suffrage Movement."

The Historical Society of Rockland County is a nonprofit educational institution and principal repository for original documents and artifacts relating to Rockland County. Its headquarters are a four-acre site featuring a history museum and the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House in New City, New York.
