Women’s Suffrage in Rockland County

New York State was key to the national movement for women’s suffrage.Learn about some of the people here in Rockland County who were leaders in the Women’s Suffrage movement from 1848 until 1917, when suffrage was legalized in New York.

The victory was a critical tipping point on the road to a constitutional amendment which was passed in 1920 with the 19th Amendment.
