Clare Sheridan welcomed Rockland County Historian Craig Long, who discussed the history of the Ramapo Pass, the Clove Road, the Smith House, and the new historical markers that relate to these historic sites in the Town of Ramapo.

This episode of Crossroads of Rockland History has been made possible by a generous contribution from the Town of Ramapo. The HSRC is grateful for their support of our efforts to share local history with the people of Rockland County.

Crossroads of Rockland History, a program of the Historical Society of Rockland County, airs on the third Monday of each month at 9:30 am, right after the Steve and Jeff morning show, on WRCR radio 1700 AM and www.WRCR.com. Join host Clare Sheridan as we explore, celebrate, and learn about our local history, with different topics and guest speakers every month. During 2020, our focus is Women’s History in celebration of the Suffrage Centennial.  We are pleased to announce that we have begun loading our archived podcasts to the following platforms:  Apple Podcasts; Stitcher and Spotify.

The Historical Society of Rockland County is a nonprofit educational institution and principal repository for original documents and artifacts relating to Rockland County. Its headquarters are a four-acre site featuring a history museum and the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House in New City, New York.
