This special exhibition featured news articles, photographs, audio recordings, and film that chronicle the planning and construction of the Tappan Zee Bridge and the dramatic changes that major construction has brought to Rockland County since 1955.

The exhibition The Tappan Zee Bridge: Transforming Rockland County is part of a $150,000 Preserve America grant received by Rockland County to develop an educational and interpretive program chronicling the rich and dramatic history of the Tappan Zee Bridge. In addition to the exhibition, the grant funded education and preservation projects including the development of school-based curriculum guides (led by Travis Jackson) and the production off the Tappan Zee Bridge: Trasnforming Rockland County film (DVD) and book (Roger Panetta). The Preserve America program is administered by the National Park Service in partnership with the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.
