35th Annual Exhibition - A Celebration!

November 21, 2010 —February 27, 2011

The Historical Society of Rockland County proudly announced the return of the ever-popular annual exhibition:

The 35th Annual Miniature, Dollhouse & Art Exhibition: A Celebration!

This exhibition opened on Sunday, November 21, 2010. The opening reception was from 1 to 4 pm and many of the artists and craftspersons were be on-hand to greet our guests.

The 2010-2011 exhibition showcased the work of miniature artist Sandra Mirque. Sandra, originally from Rockland County, now resides in Orange County, NY. Sandra has been exhibiting at the HSRC for many years now. Each of her detailed room boxes tells a story and are very appealing to those of us who are young at heart.

Sandra graciously created a hand-made Tuscany-themed room box which she donated to the HSRC which was raffled off during the run of the exhibition. All proceeds from the raffle were donated to the HSRC.

We were pleased to be exhibiting pieces by collage artist Elizabeth Parsons of Monroe, NY  --   this was Elizabeth's first time exhibiting at the HSRC -- as well as beautiful art dolls and dollhouses by West Nyack artist & children's book author & illustrator Barbara Soloff Levy.

As part of the exhibition's curator's celebration, we were very proud to have many other talented contributors to this highly anticipated show, including well-known Rockland artists:
- ceramic artist Rosemary Aiello
- children's book illustrator & author
Elizabeth Sayles
- illustrator William Sayles
- the beautiful quilts made by Mary Jane Sexton
- miniaturist Carolyn McErlean
- miniaturist Zsuzsa Neff
- glass artist
Stephanie Maddelena

and regional contributors, including:

- miniaturist Gladys Vasquez
- miniaturist Tamara Greeman
- dollhouse creator Hallie Horning

We were very happy to have part of the miniature set for New York State's popular 'NY Lottery Sweet Million Cute Carnival Bunnies' commercial created by Timothy Rossiter... sans bunnies.
and more artists!
