AROUND HOME
☞ Some time on Thursday while Archibald Cranston was sitting with his family in the lower part of his house, some thief entered softly and went upstairs, ransacking the apartment and stealing five dollars in money.
☞ Hubbell’s “Hotel-de-stay-all-night,” on Pork Alley, is not supplied by the Nyack Water Works. It gets its water direct from the clouds, which comes in “trickling, silver drops” through the knotholes in the roof.
☞ The following rowers and boats are entered for the race, on Saturday: William L. Voorhis, boat not named; Charles Haines, Shumocker’s Boy; Walter J. Marshall, Bertie; Charles A. Morford, Nonesuch; A. M. Voorhis, Clara G.
☞ A shell-boat race will be rowed on Rockland Lake today (Saturday) at 5 o’clock p.m. between Messrs Eddie Phifer and Wm. Jolliffe, the prize being a rowing shirt, gotten up expressly for the victor, and the championship of the Enke.
☞ On Monday last a large block of snow ice was dug from the pile of sawdust lying near Storms & Co.’s pail factory. It is supposed that after a heavy fall of snow, sawdust was thrown on top of the snow and in this way preserved it until now.
☞ Ice, one-quarter of an inch in thickness, formed in the vicinity of Monsey, on Sunday night, and heavy frost was visible in many parts of our county on Monday morning.

$5,000 REWARD
A $5,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of missing Spring Valley businessman Milton Tiktin was offered Monday by his ex-wife.
Selma Tiktin, who is affiliated with Tiktin’s business, American Automatic Amusements, 206 Smith Road, said that funds for the reward would come from Tiktin’s family, the business firm or from both. She asked that anyone with information contact detective Sgt. Alex Lagatella at Spring Valley village police headquarters.
Tiktin has been missing since May 28. The 54-year-old distributor of pinball machines, jukeboxes and other arcade amusements was last seen at the Smith Road firm by an employe. His car, a key in the ignition, was found outside the business, police have said.
Friends and business associates—including Ms. Tiktin—have said they fear foul play may have been involved in Tiktin’s disappearance. Village police said they have not ruled out the possibility that he has been murdered or abducted.
