Agriculture has been an inextricable part of Rockland County’s life since the first humans inhabited the lower Hudson Valley thousands of years ago.
“Holidays on the Farm,” decorated in fall and winter themes, explores key eras of our region’s agricultural history. From Dutch settlement and sustenance farming, the rise of commercial and mechanized techniques in the 19th and 20th centuries, to today’s rebirth of sustainable farming to promote community engagement in suburban Rockland County, agriculture is deeply embedded in our Hudson Valley county.
The exhibition will run from December 2025 through February 2026. Admission is $5 per person ($FREE for HSRC Members) and includes tours of the historic Jacob Blauvelt Farmhouse decorated for the holidays on most Sundays afternoons. (Please call ahead to confirm.) Hours are Wednesdays–Fridays & Sundays, 12–4 pm.
For information about the exhibition or to schedule a group visit, contact Jennifer Rothschild, Director of Programming, at educator@rocklandhistory.org.
